Chichester Harbour, Aug 2021 « Chelsea Kayak Membership

Due to chief Fiona and co-leader Jan, 6 different paddlers took the chance to embark on a membership paddle in Chichester on the weekend.  Wealthy, Jo, Christine, Mike & Marcel used membership boats, Jan took his personal and Kenneth used the chance to check out his new Inuit-inspired, aluminum-framed kayak lined by stretched polyurethane pores and skin.  Second solely to his assortment of sweets, everybody was fairly impressed!

An early begin meant departing Kew at shortly after 7:30am, planning round excessive water at 12:30pm.  ETA in Itchenor was round 9:30am.  Fiona’s journey plan suggested ‘paddle to Fishbourne’ and through our pre-trip briefing it turned clear that she didn’t imply Fishbourne on the Isle of Wight – apparently there are two cities on this space with the identical identify!  With this cleared up, we set off shortly after 10am, headed in the direction of Chichester while having fun with views of the spire within the distance marking the historic city location.

In direction of Fishbourne, Fiona disappeared however we quickly realised she paddled up the reeded creek …….. all of us adopted and this slender inlet compelled us to apply some abilities – turning, reversing, maneuvering and so forth.

Lunch at Dell Quay – beautiful pub and crusing faculty location – sitting on the wall watching the world go by, absorbing a great deal of solar and scoffing a sneaky Victoria sponge.

After lunch, the tide had turned and aided our paddle again.  The mild movement allowed us to apply some abilities earlier than heading again.   All-in-all tremendous climate, tremendous firm and a beautiful time out!
